The Nintendo Wii is a game console that has a lot of unique accessories that are designed to make the game play more interesting and in some cases improve the quality of the play. One such Wii accessory is the Wii Zapper.
When the original Nintendo game system was introduced, the zapper and Duck Hunt were wildly popular. Although it was a simple game and simple concept, it gained great popularity. Since Duck Hunt and the gun came standard with most consoles, many people became exposed to it and Duck Hunt became one of the most widely known games on any gaming console.
The N64 and Game Cube by Nintendo did not come with any type of gun accessory, so the introduction of one for the Wii was highly anticipated. Since the Wii uses a unique remote system, the gun has to be unique as well. It uses both the standard Wii remote and the nunchuk. Both of these are standard controllers that come with every Wii system. With a few twists of the cable and a few clicks of the plastic covers, the Wii Zapper is ready to use. Make sure that the sensor on the television is clean, and you should have good reception and accuracy.
Obviously the Wii Zapper gun in for shooting games, but depending on the game, the zapper may or not be the best suited controller to use. Many of the games out there are compatible with multiple controllers. It is up to the user to find the ones that works best for them. If it has a lot of complex controls or motions required, it is sometimes not the easiest to use. This is often the case with first person shooter games and there are many other gun accessory choices if the zapper does not work the best for your favorite game.
Since the zapper is a gun for the gaming system, it is important that children understand gun safety and the difference between a toy and a real gun. The ratings on every game should be observed and children should be allowed to play games that are outside of their age range or outside of the parents comfort level.
